Animal Control

The City of Llano regulates the control of animals within the City of Llano. The Llano Police Department can be summoned for nuisance animals, including wild animals, provided they are within the city limits. You can also call the City of Llano Police Dept. to report dangerous or potentially dangerous animals as well as abused, neglected, or unwanted animals.


Shelter Fees

Current shelter fees will be charged for the housing of your animal. Animals are housed at the The City Of Llano Animal Shelter, located at 203 West Haynie.  Cost for impoundment is $25.00 processing fee plus $15.00 / day held. 


Picking Up Your Animal

In the event your pet is picked up by Animal Control, you can contact the Llano Police Department at 325-247-3028 to make arrangements to reunite. Office hours are 8 a.m. to  4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Animals are held for a maximum of 5 days.





Common Animal Control Violations

Some of the more common Animal Control Violations are:


Trap Lease Fee:  If a trap is requested at a property a lease fee of $15.00 / Week or $5.00 / Day will be charged to the individual.


Relinquish Fee:  In the event you can no longer take care of an animal and wish to turn it over to the Animal Control Authority a $50.00 fee will be charged to the individual.
 
Dead Animal Disposal: In the event you wish Animal Control to remove and dispose of a dead animal a charge of $10.00 will be charged to the individual.
